At the end of this year, some software on your mac computer may not work properly. To check to see if your current software has 64-bit support, go to System Information, then select Applications in the Software menu on the left column. In the 64-Bit (Intel) column, any software that is marked as No will need to be upgraded to a 64-bit version to work with future macOS operating systems:

Please note: Software developers were given notice about this 2018 requirement at Apple’s WWDC conference in June, so they probably are working on updating their software to meet 64-bit requirements. Also, it’s always helpful to regularly check your desktop software for version updates. By doing this, any changes software developers make will be brought onto your workstation.
